SWPBS Initiative

This Term, staff have reviewed our Positive Behaviour Matrix and updated the expected behaviours to reflect OMPUA (which stands for observable, measurable,

positively stated, understandable and always applicable).  Effective rules provide students with guidance to meet expectations for behaviour. To ensure the effectiveness of school rules they should be

positively stated and explicit. This model provides a framework for writing expectations but also allows for evaluation of existing expectations to ensure they are clear and teachable.

We have also created posters for each setting of the matrix which will be displayed in relevant areas of the school. An example is below.

The SWPBS team have also reviewed the Behaviour Management Procedures and updated one change – breaking school values (previously breaking Super 7) as a minor behaviour.
