As we near the end of another fantastic school year, we would like to take a moment to celebrate one of the cornerstones of our school: our incredible Wellbeing Team. Their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts to support the emotional, social, and mental health of our students, staff, and families have made a profound impact throughout the year.

Our team has worked diligently to implement numerous initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive school environment. From launching engaging programs that build resilience and emotional intelligence to providing one-on-one support for students in need, their contributions have touched every corner of our school.

Thanks to their commitment, we’ve seen some incredible successes this year: an increase in student engagement, stronger peer connections, and a more vibrant sense of belonging within our school community.

Some of the key milestones/actions the team has achieved include:

  • Working collaboratively with an Area Inclusion Coach, Warren Dawson for Term 1.
  • Further implementation of SWPBS which involved refining School Values, Behaviour Matrix, tracking behaviour data, implementing tokens to align with houses to name a few.
  • Trauma Informed Practice - Berry St Training (Wellbeing Leaders)
  • Social/Emotional lessons encompassing a mixture of the Resilience Project, Respectful Relationships, Sexuality Education, Zone of Regulation, Berry St.
  • First Social Skills Program through external provider, 'I Can'.
  • Implementation of school-wide wellbeing resources including establishing Wellbeing Walls across each learning space.
  • Fortnightly staff professional learning sessions. These include: SWPBS, Berry St, Tiered Supports, Anxiety Workshop, Growth Mindsets, Self Regulation, Wellbeing Walls.
  • Organising external providers to run Parent information sessions for anxiety.
  • JSC to include students from Years F-5 and developing rich connections with community organisations such as Age Care Facilities.
  • Inclusion of 'Story Dogs' in Semester 2 to enable a child and a dog with their volunteer handler a weekly one-on-one reading session held at the child’s reading level.
  • Further implementation of the 'Disability Inclusion' to respond to the needs of students with disability to ensure they can participate and achieve their full potential at school and in life.
  • Including Education Support in Student Support Group Meetings.
  • Making available valuable information and resources through the newsletter including workshops, parenting tips, online tools etc.

We look forward to working with all families, students and staff in 2025 and further building on our great Wellbeing practices.
