Annual House Sports

On Friday 8th November, all SPS students participated in the annual House Sports competition. Students, in their house teams (divided into F-3 and 4-6 age groups), participated in a circuit of activities throughout the day to earn points for their house. Activities included - amongst other events - long jump, hurdles, hockey dribbling, basketball shooting, quoits and target throwing, and allowed students to challenge themselves with new or different skills.

The 5/6 Student Leaders very confidently and capably lead the events, explaining and demonstrating the activities to each group and encouraging the younger students. When the teams had participated in all activities, Mrs Spelman calculated the points earnt in each event to determine the winning house. It was then announced at assembly that Cook house had won the day. Congratulations Cook!

The points earnt by each house at the House Sports will be added to their points aggregate earnt across the year and the 2024 winning house will be announced at the end of the year.

Many thanks to Mrs Spelman for organising and coordinating the day.

ASC Cost To Play Sport Survey

With the rising costs of living, we need to ensure that sport does not become a ‘luxury item’ for families. We need to understand the cost to deliver sport and the cost to individuals to participate in sport.

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is working with researchers from Federation University who have developed a survey to better understand the costs involved for participants.

This survey is for all participants that engage in sport. This can be any age however parents or guardians will be asked to complete the survey on behalf of participants aged 12 and under. Please use the link below or the QR code on the poster to complete the survey.
