SEPEP Level 6
At the start of Term Three, 6M got introduced to SEPEP by Mr. Jenkins.
SEPEP stands for Sport Education in Physical Education Program. Initially the class voted for the CEO’s – two boys and two girls.
The elected CEOs were Rachel, Amaya, Benny and Jacob.
The CEO’s first job was to decide on who they wanted in their groups. Once the groups were chosen, each CEO assigned roles to their group members, so that everyone had a responsibility. When the groups were finalised, 6M needed to vote on one sport to play for the rest of the term.
6M listed over five sports and narrowed it down to two. Soccer and netball were the two final options left. Everyone closed their eyes, and they did an anonymous vote to see what sport would get chosen to play. Mr. Jenkins added up the tally and announced that soccer had won as 6M’s sport for SEPEP!
After the sport was chosen, the CEO’s had a meeting to discuss what changes they were going to make. Since the tally was so close between netball and soccer the CEO’s decided to put netball rules into soccer. They added all the netball positions into soccer, also players can pick up the ball to shoot a goal instead of kicking it in a normal game of soccer.
When all the rules were analysed, and everyone understood them 6M had their first game of soccer and netball mixed! Team 1 and Team 3 versed each other in the first match. In all there were 4 teams and 3 rounds so that each team played each other.
6M did SEPEP so we could build confidence with speaking to one another and to get more exercise into ourselves. They all had a great experience with doing this and working in a team with a kind CEO.

Sporting Schools
In Term 2,3 & 4 we were successful in applying for and receiving funding from the Sporting Schools program.
This is Government funding to increase sporting activities within schools and increase opportunities to experience different sports along with topping up useful sporting resources.
Term 2- Gymnastics (level 1&2)
Term 3/4- Karate (Foundation, Level 1 & Level 3)
Term 4- Water Safety & Surfing (Level 6)
Our application is already in for next year which hopefully will fund Touch footy lessons for level 4 & 5.
We’ve also topped up on Soccer, tennis and pickle ball resources along with some soccer curriculum resources.

Hoop Time
Our Grade 6 All Stars boys' team has had an incredible journey in the Hoop Time basketball competition!
Competing in the Regional Finals, our team played their hearts out and secured a fantastic win, which means we’re headed to the State Hoop Time competition in December!
We’re all super excited to represent our school at such a high level.
The girls’ team also made it to the Regional Finals and gave it their all on the court.
While they didn’t make it through to the next stage, they played brilliantly and had a great day showcasing their skills and teamwork.
Well done to everyone who participated—you’ve made Jells Park Primary proud!
Let's keep cheering each other on as we prepare for the State finals! Go Jells!
