This week in Writing, we are learning to plan and write about the problem in the fiction text. 

VOCABULARY

Narrative:

a fiction text that tells a story

Fiction:

a made up story

Setting:

where a story takes place

Problem:

something to be solved

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Discuss your child’s favourite story book and the problem the characters are  facing.  Discuss what a problem is and ask students to share problems they have come across in their lives or a book before. Encourage your child to  notice and discuss the details included in the text and /or pictures.

After the discussion your child can have a go at writing using any media, paper or technology  about the character. 

Eg: 

One of the monkeys dropped his banana on the ground . Now he was wondering how he could go down and get that banana  he was  scared of going out of the treehouse as it was dark.
