Junior School Report

Exciting Escape Room Challenge at Knox Park Primary School!
Wow — how lucky were we to visit Knox Park Primary School and take part in the fantastic Escape Rooms designed by their Grade 5 students, inspired by Andy Griffiths’ Treehouse series!
The students created four unique escape rooms, each with its own theme and set of challenges. Our students showed impressive problem-solving skills as they raced to solve the puzzles.
They had to discover peep holes revealing clues, find hidden doors, decode cryptic messages, and more. Clues were cleverly concealed in books, stuck on trees, hidden inside an ocean-based chest, and included pictographs that needed decoding.
Teamwork was essential to unlock the locks and progress through each room. A special highlight was learning that Terry Denton, the illustrator of the Treehouse series, had visited Knox Park Primary just the week before!
Congratulations to Mr Mark Hanson, the Grade 5 students, Knox Park Primary School staff, and supportive parents for creating such an amazing and engaging challenge.
Thank you for the opportunity — our students certainly had a lot of fun!
Primary School Teacher Visits
It was truly wonderful for many of our Year 7 students to reconnect with their primary school teachers and principals after six months at secondary school.
Over morning tea, lively conversations flourished, with some visitors marvelling at how much their former students had grown and expressing delight at hearing about their smooth and successful transition to secondary school.
Several students proudly gave their primary school visitors a tour of the college, showcasing their favourite classes and new learning spaces.
Our Year 7 leaders also shared insights about the highs and challenges of moving to secondary school—valuable reflections that staff can use to support current students during their own transition journeys.
Additionally, Liam Morley, 7B was invited back to his primary school, Wantirna, where he represented our college with distinction on Curriculum Day, informing grades 4, 5, and 6 about the transition process and life at our school.
A very big thank you goes out to all the primary school staff that visited us.
We had representatives from Carrington, Kent Park, Lysterfield, Wattle View, Knox Park, Boronia Heights, Dillbadin, Wantirna, Mountain Gate, Park Ridge, Scoresby, Karoo, Ferntree Gully North, The Basin and Knox Gardens Primary Schools.
