Celebrating Student Achievements

Lenka (Grade 5) entered the Youth Myki competition to design a new Myki card for the Youth Card being launched next year, which will give free travel for youth aged 5 to 17 years. 

Lenka only heard about the competition on the day it closed, and spent most of that Sunday working on her picture. Her design is inspired by train maps and a heart for the city, because of how much she loves travelling to the city.

Last week she was very excited to be asked to meet the Minister for Transport Gabrielle Williams, together with two of the other finalists, and be part of a story about the competition reported by Channel 9 News.  Each of them was given a mock up giant Myki card with their design printed on it for the news story, which they got to keep. 

The story ran on Channel 9 news on Sunday night.
