Learning about the environment

We had a lesson about how to take care of the environment.  

We learnt to not waste electricity and how to care for our environment by picking up rubbish.  Picking up rubbish stops it getting into our waterways and ending up in the ocean where it can harm turtles.  Turtles think floating plastic is food because it looks like jellyfish.

When class was done Ms Drossaert asked if anyone wanted to make announcements at playtime to remind students to pick up their rubbish and turn off the lights and heaters in their classroom.  We put our hands up!
