Principal's Message

As we come to the end of the 2025 school year, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our entire school community, students, staff and families, for another fantastic year at MEPS. Your ongoing support, flexibility and partnership have played a vital role in making this year such a success.
To our students, thank you for your enthusiasm, effort and positive attitude throughout the year. To our staff, thank you for your dedication, care and commitment to creating the best learning environment possible. To our families, thank you for your continued support and trust. It truly makes a difference.
We wish everyone a safe, relaxing and enjoyable Christmas and New Year break. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026, refreshed and ready for another exciting year of learning and fun. 🎄✨
Grade 6 Graduation
On Monday night we celebrated our Grade 6 Graduation, and what a truly special evening it was. The night was filled with many laughs, a few tears, and plenty of proud moments as we reflected on the journey our students have taken.
We would like to congratulate all of our Grade 6 students on the amazing year they have had. Their growth, resilience and achievements have been wonderful to see, and the graduation ceremony was the perfect way to top off such a memorable year.
A huge thank you must go to the Grade 6 team for the many hours of work that went into preparing the graduation. Our staff continually go above and beyond to create such meaningful and lasting memories for our students, and this night was no exception.
As they prepare to move on to the next chapter of their learning, please know that you will all be greatly missed at MEPS. We wish you every success for the future and hope you take the time to come back and visit us—you will always be part of our school community.
Departing Staff
Thank you to everyone who attended the retirement function on Tuesday for Pattie Barnett, Kerry Craig-Smith and Jan Liesfield. It was a beautiful way to farewell these very special ladies, who will be sadly missed around the school. As they begin an exciting new chapter, we wish them all the very best for the future.
We will also be farewelling the following teachers, Mitch Holmes, Lili Hawkins, Tracey Thornton and Jordan Stone; and our school nurse, Amber Latham-Spicer. Our maintenance man, Michael Lucas, will also be retiring. We thank them sincerely for the valuable contributions they have made to MEPS and wish them every success in their next endeavours.
Pattie's Garden
Our new garden area near the senior building now has a name, Pattie’s Garden.
We couldn’t think of a more fitting name, as it truly reflects the heart and purpose of this space. It embodies our values of kindness, respect, resilience and growth. Pattie’s Garden will be a welcoming area for students, staff and visitors to pause, reflect and enjoy a calm, nurturing environment that mirrors the values we strive to instil across our school community, just as Pattie has done throughout her years at MEPS.
Last Day
Reminder that we will finish at 1:30pm Friday. Assembly will be 12:50pm where we say good bye to our Grade 6 students. This assembly will be held in the stadium.
Merry Christmas everyone and we will see you on Wednesday, 28th January!
Leadership,
Matt Tyndall, Antoinette DiLudovico and Brant Kennedy
