A Message from the Acting Assistant Principal

Mrs Chelsea McKeown

Welcome parents and families to the 2026 school year! I hope all families at St Martha’s enjoyed a joyful and blessed Christmas, followed by a restful holiday. It has been wonderful to see students returning to school with bright smiles and curious minds, creating a calm and focused classroom environment. Our kindergarten students have had an amazing first week, quickly adapting to daily routines and impressing their teachers with their enthusiasm and readiness to learn.

A few reminders for the start of the new school year;

Uniform

The children are to be congratulated for returning to school wearing the correct uniform. All children are to wear their hair in a neat and tidy manner at all times. All children with long hair, below collar length, are required to have their hair tied back at all times.

A school hat is to be worn during lunch time. The school has a ‘No Hat, No Play Policy’, whereby students without a hat will be asked to sit down in a shaded area.

Please make sure that all items, including lunch boxes and drink bottles, are labelled to avoid misplaced items.

School Hours and Supervision

School Commences8:45am SHARP with morning line up and prayer
Lunch 110:50am-11:30am
Lunch 21:30pm-2:10pm
Dismissal3:10pm

School supervision begins at 8.15 am, when the school gates are opened in the morning. Teachers supervise students until 3.30 pm each day. When dropping students off, please take careful note of the parking notices and crossing areas around our school. We ask that you do not block our neighbours driveways or illegally park in no stopping zones. We all need to work together to do the right thing to prevent any accidents or dangerous situations involving our precious students and their families.

Finally, during morning assemblies and prayer could you please stand in the area near the chuch behind the Stage 3 students. This will allow the classes to move quickly into their classrooms ready for great learning.

Arriving Late to School

The morning bell rings at 8.45 am. Any child arriving after our morning assembly has concluded needs to be accompanied by a parent to the office and signed in on the Compass iPad. This is important to ensure that the students are marked present and their attendance is correct.

Please have your child at school on time, as late comers disrupt the operation of the school.

Classroom Teachers

Your child’s classroom teacher is your first point of call regarding any issues pertaining to your child. Please send all emails or correspondence for the class teacher to our school office and not directly to them.

School office - 97641184

School email - info@stmstrathfield.catholic.edu.au

Mr Belcastro and I can also be contacted through this email and phone number if you would like to speak to either of us regarding any matter.

Anaphylaxis

In order to ensure the good health of children who have a severe allergic and potentially fatal reaction to nuts, St Martha’s is an Allergy Aware school. Please do not pack PEANUT BUTTER, NUTELLA, or ANY NUT PRODUCT in your child’s lunch box. Several students have a severe allergy to these products. This allergy is known as Anaphylaxis.
