PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE - Saturday 15th November - Working Bee 3pm - 5pm

Saturday 22nd November 12-5pm - IPS Fair

Welcome to IPS

At Ivanhoe Primary School, our students benefit every day from the strong partnership between families, staff, and the wider community—something that truly makes our school a special place to learn and grow.

As we reach the midpoint of Term 4, we want to take a moment to thank the many parents, carers, and teachers who have volunteered their time throughout the year. Whether it’s helping in classrooms, camps, supporting excursions, assisting with special events, or contributing to committees and working groups, your involvement has made a huge difference. These efforts not only enrich our students’ learning experiences but also help create the warm, connected school culture we’re so proud of.

Looking ahead, we have two exciting community events coming up. Our Working Bee on Saturday the 15th November is a great chance to roll up your sleeves, help tidy and improve our school grounds, and enjoy the company of other families. Then, just a week later, we’ll celebrate together at our School Fair — our biggest fundraiser for 2026!

The Fair promises to be a fantastic day filled with fun, food, entertainment, and community spirit.   Thank you again to everyone who has contributed their time and energy this year.

It’s through your generosity and teamwork that Ivanhoe Primary continues to be such a great school for our students and families.

Every dollar raised at this year’s School Auction goes straight back into creating inspiring, engaging, and diverse spaces for our children to learn, play, and connect. With your support, we’re building a school environment that recognises every child’s needs — from the ones who thrive on movement and energy to those who seek calm, creativity, and connection. Together, these projects will create a balanced, welcoming space that supports wellbeing, friendship, and learning for all.

Here’s what’s on the wish list:

More of our much-loved outdoor seating settings – These have been a huge hit with students and families alike! We plan to add more near The Beehive so kids can relax, eat, and socialise outdoors. (Approx. $10,000)

A new ¼-court basketball/netball space – A fantastic addition to get kids active and outdoors! This will give students another area to play, practise, and burn energy during breaks. (Approx. $60,000+)

An ‘oasis-style’ landscaped area near the new cubby and sandpit – Currently a dustbowl, this spot will be transformed into a calm, green retreat where imagination and play can thrive. (Approx. $7,765)

A large outdoor chessboard – Painted on the concrete near the hall, this creative play space will encourage strategic thinking and friendly competition. (Approx. $3,000)

Two large outdoor blackboards – To be installed near the Year 2 classrooms, perfect for doodling, learning, and outdoor creativity. (Approx. $1,500)

Court line marking repairs – Freshening up our 2 and 4-square courts to keep them looking sharp and safe. (Approx. $1,000)

Marking and resurfacing a volleyball court in the school hall – Bringing new life and energy indoors! This project will enhance our multi-use space where students enjoy active play, team sports, and PE sessions all year round. (Approx. $7,876)

General beautification and landscaping – Because every corner of our school deserves to feel special!

Every bid makes a difference. From high-energy play zones to quiet, creative corners, each improvement helps nurture happy, healthy, and curious learners. Together, we’re creating a school environment where every child can flourish.

Remember, Our Fair can’t happen without the support of our amazing community.

Finally

Ivanhoe Primary School is looking forward to another great year of teaching and learning in 2026. We would like to advise families that the voluntary financial contributions for 2026 will remain unchanged.

While these contributions are voluntary, the information included on the 2026 Voluntary Financial Contributionspage of this newsletter outlines how these funds are used to support our programs and facilities.

One key area we’d like to highlight is the Digital Learning Technology Contribution

Although there is much discussion around screen time, technology remains an essential part of a modern, engaging classroom. Projectors, interactive whiteboards, laptops, and robotics equipment all play a vital role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning.

Ivanhoe Primary has deliberately chosen not to run a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. Instead, the school maintains a well-managed fleet of leased equipment, ensuring all students have access to reliable and up-to-date technology. Purchasing this equipment outright would be impractical and unaffordable, which is why this contribution is so valuable.

The Digital Learning Technology Contribution helps to:

  • fund regular technical support to keep systems running smoothly,
  • provide professional learning for teachers so they can confidently use technology in the classroom,
  • ensure the school remains current with new technological developments, and
  • replace and upgrade projectors, smartboards, and other classroom technology as needed.

Since returning from Covid and long periods of lockdown we have seen a noticeable drop in the  Digital Learning Technology Contribution and this has impacted our capacity to refresh aging equipment. Please consider supporting this valuable school program..

Your contribution directly supports our students to become confident, capable, and creative users of digital technologies.

Thank you for your continued support.
