Students are finishing their keynotes on their African country, sharing their knowledge in an oral presentation and moving onto exploring South America. Your child may like to share their presentation with you at home to practice their speaking skills.

Literacy

Students will be exploring poetry during reading focusing on reading and understanding the structure and vocabulary of cinquain, acrostic and diamante poems. Students will create and publish their own poems in the same genres with a view to recording themselves and sharing via Showbie.

Maths

We are beginning our focus on algebra, mass and capacity. Please keep on cooking with your children focusing on having them estimate and measure ingredients using measuring cups and scales. We are also encouraging students to utilise Mathletics at home including assigned tasks and Multiverse.

Kitchen Garden

Last week we enjoyed making and sharing pasta with broad beans from the garden and a lemon cream herb sauce along with delicious jam drop biscuits. Students may enjoy making pasta at home, many commented that it was easier than they thought it would be and more delicious than dry pasta.
