At St Aidan's, we believe reading is one of the most valuable skills a child can develop. Reading builds vocabulary, strengthens comprehension, sparks imagination, and supports success across every subject area. When students read regularly—both at school and at home—they grow in confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking.
To help foster this love of reading, our school proudly participates in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. This program encourages students to set personal reading goals, explore a wide range of books, and experience the joy of reading for pleasure.
This year, 97 students completed the Premier’s Reading Challenge, which is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the enthusiasm for reading within our school community. We are incredibly proud of every student who took part and committed to their reading goals.
Certificates were sent home with students this week, including 11 Gold and 5 Platinum certificates. We look forward to continuing to nurture a strong love of reading across our school.
Keep up the wonderful reading, everyone!
