Faith and Mission

As we enter a significant period in the academic calendar, with ATAR examinations underway and Years 10 and 11 exams just around the corner, it’s natural for students, families, and staff alike to feel a mixture of anticipation and nerves. These exams represent important milestones on our educational journey, and as a school community, we want to take this opportunity to reflect on what it truly means to strive for excellence.

At our College, we encourage everyone to approach their studies with competence, integrity, and a healthy ambition. The pursuit of knowledge and the commitment to personal growth are qualities we value deeply. Striving to do our best is part of who we are. Preparing well, managing time wisely, and seeking help when needed are all practical steps that students can take to put their best foot forward during this exam season.

While exam results can open doors and provide valuable feedback, it’s essential to remember that no single mark or ranking defines our worth. Each person is unique, blessed with gifts and talents that reach far beyond what can be measured on a test paper. In the busyness of revision and the pressure of performance, we must hold onto the truth that we are more than a number or a grade. Our dignity is innate, given to us by God, and it cannot be diminished by any result.

Our College's mission is to provide a holistic education, one that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit. We celebrate the academic achievements of our students, but we also value creativity, compassion, leadership, resilience, and service. Whether your strengths lie in science, the arts, sport, or caring for others, every contribution is valued, and every gift deserves recognition.

As the exam season progresses, let’s strive to do our best, but let’s also remember to celebrate who we are beyond our results. Each of us is a person of dignity and purpose, created with unique gifts to share with the world. May this exam season be marked not only by hard work and achievement, but also by gratitude, hope, and a deep sense of our own and each other’s worth.

To help centre ourselves during this busy period, we invite all students and families to take a moment for reflection and prayer. A recording prayer examen for exams is available below to guide you in mindfulness and gratitude throughout your studies.
