Principal's Report

Creativity & Endeavour. Respect, Inclusion, Resilience

A gentle reminder that we would greatly appreciate notification if your family will be moving on from Roberts McCubbin PS for the 2026 school year.

2026 Fair - Congratulations Robbie Mac

As I mentioned in my email to the school community on Monday, our School Fair last weekend was a tremendous tribute to everything that makes Roberts McCubbin Primary School an outstanding community to live, work and learn within. It was so heart-warming to see the community unite to support the school while having a great time together, with community members from both within the school and outside making many comments about what a wonderful event we had produced. Even the weather did the right thing for us, with a beautiful rainbow in the northern sky about the closest hint of rain we had during the afternoon and evening.

While enormous credit goes to the core Fair Committee, we are so grateful to each and every volunteer for your contributions, as well as to our students (past, present and future!) for the commendable way they conducted themselves on the day - having a great time but remaining respectful of our school and each other. I would also like to acknowledge the many staff members who volunteered their time both on the day as well as before and after in the case of our admin team.

Saturday was truly a day of great pride for the Principal of this wonderful school.

Speaking of the Fair Committee, the work that this group has done in the months (years in some cases!) leading up to the Fair has been remarkable. Being a committee member is a commitment and responsibility that can be daunting to take on, although hopefully a responsibility that has come with great satisfaction now the dust has settled. To Kasia, Kim, Gemma, Sophia, Wen Li, Michelle, Andrew, David, Jo, Kerrie, David, Jaclyn, Minh & Jess, as well as your families, you have our eternal gratitude!

We have invited our committee members to Assembly next Friday so we can acknowledge them in person - as well as hopefully being able to announce a fundraising figure (Business Manager Mel is currently swimming in a pool of receipts trying to achieve a final tally as quickly as she can!).

Outstanding Fair Recount!

As principal, I love visits from students to share with me their amazing work. This morning I have received a visit that I felt warranted immediate inclusion in this week's edition of the newsletter:

Our Extraordinary School Fair by Hayoon, 2CR

We had an outstanding school fair! I had never had a school fair before in my life but I loved it. It was the best fair I have ever been to. There were the exciting swishes of rides, screaming children and exotic animals too. Children were waiting, adrenalin rushing through them, getting ready for the thrills of the rides.

Excited children dashed over to the petting zoo, and I could hardly wait to see fluffy, adorable bunnies. Next, Emma and I went on the ride Bad Boys II. We were just the right height. But David and Yena weren't tall enough. When we got on, Emma was screeching like crazy! I could not stand the screeching at all. Soon every single person on the ride was chanting "Faster, faster!" And so did we. Up next was the Chairoplane. I was pretty dizzy after that because we rode it four whole turns!!!

We eventually got hungry so Emma got a juice and I got a snow cone. After that, Gemma and I went to the playground near the oval.

As the sky darkened, fireworks lit up the sky in a myriad of colourful explosions. They were absolutely loud! I took a video for my grandma's birthday.

We kept on watching until I said "Isn't it bad for the environment?" Mum said it would be fine so I lost the thought and watched the warm glow of the fireworks, glowing in all their glory.

SunSmart Reminder – Hats Required Throughout Term 4

As part of our school’s SunSmart policy, the official SunSmart period is now active. We expect that all students will begin wearing their hats, with our 'no hat, no play' system currently in place. Please ensure your child’s hat is clearly labelled and brought to school each day. Spartan Uniforms have hats in stock for purchase if needed. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe in the sun.
