Green Team News
Last Friday, the Green Team gathered in Brendan’s Garden for another busy and exciting gardening session. The students worked together to plant tomato, zucchini and pumpkin seedlings, ready to soak up the warmer weather ahead.
Unfortunately, there was a little mystery in the garden - all of the basil seedlings planted three weeks ago had mysteriously disappeared! Undeterred, the team quickly got to work replanting new basil seedlings, determined to give them another chance to thrive.
We were also very lucky to receive some beautiful sunflower seedlings, kindly grown and donated by a friend of Mrs Carr. These have been planted in the garden to add a cheerful splash of colour. In addition, the students planted their own sunflower seeds in small pots, hoping they’ll germinate quickly and be ready to move into the garden beds before the Christmas holiday break.
It was a productive afternoon of teamwork, problem-solving and care for our growing garden. We can’t wait to see how everything looks in a few weeks!
Art News
The Year One and Year Two students are learning about the artist ‘Claude Monet’ and his beautiful garden and pond. The students are creating their own artwork in response to the impressionist’s work. So far we are loving the results!
