Student Wellbeing - TRP

In Year 4 we have been identifying character strengths in ourselves and others. We call this ‘Strength Spotting’. We looked at the 24 character strengths and how these positive qualities impact how we think, feel and behave. During this lesson, students were asked to bring in a picture doing something they love. We then used these to reflect on what qualities this photo highlighted about ourselves.
My character strengths are empathy and independence.I chose empathy because I can thoroughly understand How others feel and I chose independence because I’m always quiet when I have a choice to be quiet.

My class had to bring a photo of what we love doing and what I enjoy the most is playing soccer with my friends which is a team sport. I am very good at it because my character strengths are fairness, leadership, hope, honesty and teamwork. The picture I was in was me practising my soccer skills at home in the afternoon and I did this for a good purpose. The main purpose I took this picture was that soccer was my favourite hobby and I appreciate it a lot

My friends say I am fair because I try to see both sides of the story. I am sensitive because I care for all my friends and I am trustworthy because I always tell the truth. One of my favourite hobbies is reading. Some traits I use when I read are perseverance to finish the book, curiosity to explore different types of books and love of learning to learn about different things. I think reading is important to help your English, it can calm you down or it can just entertain. Sometimes I just want to go onto electronics but I know that reading is way better. Reading is my passion. It helps me with my imagination. This is why I love reading.

I love swimming. Swimming uses a lot of muscle, especially legs and arms. Swimming should use a lot of muscle and you can feel very tired afterwards. Swimming can be done front and back but sometimes the problem is getting in the pool because it could be very cold and you could feel tired when you swim for a long time. My character strength in this is perseverance. I make myself go in cold water and keep using my muscles even in three metre deep pools and I tell myself to keep doing it again and again.
