Supports Available for the TPS Community

Hi Families,

This week I met with Kim Kemerer from Meli. Kim is a Child and Family Practitioner and works for Meli which is a not-for-profit committed to strengthening communities through supporting people.

They offer a wide range of services to support members of our community of all ages, from early childhood through to adolescence and adulthood.

When I met with Kim, she outlined a large number of ways she can help support families of the TPS community. From supporting families looking for housing solutions, offering guidance for food relief, directing you where you can access some extra warmer layers at this cold time of the year right through to offering referrals to specialists. Essentially, Kim (and Meli) can support you and your family or provide you with up to date advice on where to head next to access the supports needed.

Everyone faces challenges occasionally, and Meli is here to lend compassionate help, and to take a preventative and early response approach – no matter how big or small a problem.

I was so impressed with the supports Kim can offer and Meli has a ‘drop-in service’ for the Golden Plains area. Every Monday Kim is located at Bannockburn Family Services Centre, 2A Pope Street, Bannockburn.

This service is open to parents, families and carers and operates between 9am-1pm with no appointment required. The best part? This service is FREE and requires no referral.

You can call Kim if needed on 0428197961 or Meli on 52268900.

Speak soon,
