Miss Marks' Message
Hello families,
It is hard to believe that we are in June already, and as winter greets us it is a timely reminder that students may need additional layers to their school uniform. During recent Morning Messages, students have been reminded of our wearing the school uniform with pride, and being part of the Teesdale team in ensuring they are wearing uniform items at school. In our newsletter last fortnight, we mentioned that the winter sniffles had embarked on us early and there continues to be a noticeable number of absences across our school so some additional accessories like scarves and beanies might be needed soon.
Simultaneous Story Time was held on May 22, and I was invited to visit the Teesdale Kinder. While I was invited to visit to read ‘Bowerbirds’ by Aura Parker, it was wonderful to meet some of our prospective students, and some familiar siblings too!
During our newsletter two weeks ago, we shared further information regarding the Early Learning Centre (ELC) that is to open in 2026. On May 23, we were visited by the Member for Eureka, Michaela Settle to our school. Michaela met some of our students and shared in our excitement for the new ELC.
As we enter the final four weeks of term two, our teachers are gathering information connected to student achievement. This information will be used to inform Semester one reports. I encourage all families to read more about our assessment approaches and structures. Ms Barnett has focused on this in her newsletter item in our Teaching and Learning page.
In addition to this, Mr Lindsay has compiled some wellbeing information for families. This includes supports through Meli. Meli are a community organisation and can provide expert advice and support. Please read through Mr Lindsay's Wellbeing page to gainmore information.
Finally, a reminder that Monday June 10 is a public holiday so we will see our students next week from Tuesday morning.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
