Prayer: The Holy Trinity
Dear Lord,
The Father is my hope. The Son is my refuge. The Holy Spirit is my protector. Glory to the holy and undivided Trinity, now and for ever. Let us be confirmed in this faith and defended against all adversities; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Dear Families,
Last Sunday was the Feast of The Holy Trinity, an important feast that reminds us of the mystery of our Catholic Faith. This week we held a special mass on Wednesday led by our Year 1/2 students and of course Fr Trung to celebrate this Feast. The feast of the Holy Trinity is particularly important for our Catholic Community as the tradition and the words 'Father, Son and Holy Spirit' express the deepest mystery of our Christian Faith, the Trinity. The combination of these words is a creed, a statement of our beliefs.
Prep 2024 - Enrolments
This week you all should have received an email regarding our Prep 2025 enrolments. I am aware that some of our current families may have a child starting Prep next year and have still not completed an enrolment form. There is still of course time to complete this and meet with me but it would be great to have all these completed in the coming weeks. If you need any assitance with this process please do not hesitate to contact Ellen in the office or myself and we will be very happy to assist you. I have also included here a link to the enrolment page on our school website.
Homework Club
Our Thursday Learning Club with Melbourne Grammar has been happening each week and from all reports our children are really enjoying and benefitting from this great experience. Thank you to all those parents supporting their children to participate in the program and being on time each week for pick up. As an example of how great this Learning Club has been can be seen in the photo I have included below. Whilst we know Austin's maths skills are quite advanced he has been really challenging himself with his tutor to solve some pretty complex Algebraic equations. Thanks again Ms Frankie who has been supervising our children each week.
Reconciliation Week
The National Reconciliation Week theme for 2024, Now More Than Ever, is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue.
There have been many moments in Australia’s reconciliation journey that make us want to turn away. But when things are divisive, the worst thing we can do is disengage or disconnect.
Now more than ever, we need to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation.
Reconciliation supporters must stand up to defend and uphold the rights of First Nations peoples. To call out racism wherever we encounter it, and to actively reinforce the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across this continent.
Now more than ever, the work continues. In treaty making, in truth-telling, in understanding our history, in education, and in tackling racism. We need connection. We need respect. We need action. And we need change.
Now more than ever, we need reconciliation.
