Word of the Week

How did you go with the phrase of the week?

1. Good morning: Ohayo gozaimasu (sounds like “Oh Ha Yo, Go Zai mus”)

2. Hello (afternoon greeting): Kon-nichi wa (sounds like “kohn niche wah”)

3. Good evening: Kon-ban wa (sound like “kohn bun wah”)

This week, it is super short and easy. We learn to say ‘Yummy!’ and “It’s delicious!”.

When it’s suitable, please try them 😊

Oishii! (yum)

Oishii desu! (delicious/politer version)

Web Exchange

On Monday, 27th May,  two Year 6 classes had an opportunity to meet and talk with Niigata Daigaku Elementary School students in Niigata, Japan.

Both Gardenvale PS students and Niigata students exchanged short self-introductions, sang a song, and asked and answered questions each other about their favourite food, anime, and general cultural questions.

Japanese students were impressed with our students with good Japanese intonations and pronunciation. Well done / Yoku dekimashita!
