School Reports & Learning Portfolios

Semester One Reports

This year our Semester One School Reports will be accessible via our new nForma Portal on Monday 24th of June at 4:00pm. Please view the nForma Portal tab in this issue of the Newsletter to find out more information about nForma Portal as well as instructions for logging in.

School Reports represent more than just a culmination of academic achievement; they serve as a pivotal bridge of communication between students, parents, and educators.

Your child's School Report will encapsulate not only the achievement standard attained but also the holistic development and growth observed throughout the academic journey. They provide invaluable insights into a student's strengths, areas for improvement, and areas of interest, fostering meaningful conversations between home and school.

Moreover, these reports in still a sense of accountability and ownership in students, encouraging them to reflect on their progress and set goals for future endeavours.

Ultimately, the importance of these reports lies in their ability to facilitate collaboration and support, ensuring that each student receives the guidance and encouragement needed to thrive academically and personally.

Student learning Portfolios

At Good Shepherd, we embrace the power of Student Learning Portfolios to provide a comprehensive reflection of each student's abilities and to showcase their progress over time.

Throughout the academic year, students diligently compile evidence of their learning journey, including completed assignments, projects, and reflections. These portfolios serve as dynamic repositories of growth, allowing students to track their development across various areas of learning. Integral to this process are the term-end summative assessments, which offer a snapshot of achievement in each learning domain.

Student Learning Portfolios are sent home at the end of Term 2 and returned at the beginning of Term 3. This strategic decision fosters a continuous feedback loop within the school environment, enabling teachers, students and families to engage in ongoing dialogue about progress, goals, and areas for improvement, ultimately enriching the learning experience for all.
