Food Technology Update

Happy Birthday EMC!

In the food tech area, our Café students have been busy. On the 20th of May our Café students led a sumptuous luncheon dedicated to celebrating the colleges 40 years, by hosting and preparing a 40-year Alumni Luncheon and get together, with over 50 people in attendance. The Café was abuzz. During the gathering, people were served tea and coffee, finger sandwiches, soup, sausage rolls, quiches, a variety of cake and slices, and fresh fruit, all made fresh by our Café students.

During the gathering, our alumni community re-connected with old friends, shared experiences and stories, lots of laughs, and plenty of history. Many friendships were renewed, there was plenty of networking with other professionals, and re-acquainting of former teachers and staff.

It was so delightful to have alumni from the beginning through to the present day joining in the celebrations.

We look forward to the next big event with more wonderful people who share a mutual connection to our fabulous school.

Here at EMC we are highlighting some of our super amazing staff that frequent our student run Café, and asking them a few questions, mostly food related 😊

How do you stay motivated?

Maintaining balance in a hectic world, through regular exercise, running / riding / walking, being in the outdoors, eating well and sleeping regularly, spending time with my family, documenting my dreams and goals – “there is always another mountain to climb” and talking to others about their goals and hopes. Being focused on improving through very small steps / actions, everything is manageable and supported.
