Faith in Our Future
I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for attending the town hall event that LCS hosted on Tuesday of this week. We had 420 people here across our Performing Arts Centre and the Library - it was an amazing event.
If you saw articles in the Examiner, before and after the event, you’ll have read how we had high hopes, and our hopes were realised. The strong turnout sent a clear message of the desire for and commitment to maintaining parent choice around education and religious freedoms. The event also acknowledged the value of Christian schooling that's based in a Biblical worldview. The stories shared clearly demonstrated that education centred on Christ positively impacts society and the lives of students attending Christian Schools.
The evening was truly a Tasmanian-wide event. For example, the group from Circular Head that travelled literally hundreds of kilometres to be there displaying a great sense of commitment.
I am thankful for the LCS team here that made it all possible, for their hard work and dedication. The event was an amazing opportunity to come together and to share the benefits of Christian education.
The evening was a celebration, and highlighted a sense of concern and caution that is warranted in these challenging times.

CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS ARE different.
Our students go into the world with Christian hope in their hearts. A new generation of Aussies who love to volunteer, to serve their communities and to build strong families.
At the heart of this difference is the living Christian faith of teachers and staff. People whose lives model the grace and love of Christ. However, proposals from the Australian Law Reform Commission threaten to change this. Hiring a teacher or staff member at a Christian school because they are actually a Christian may soon be seen as discrimination.
My Christian School is for Australians who believe in this difference.
Together, we can preserve this precious difference for future generations.
