MSA - Don Deeble Award

The Sunshine & Western Region Sports Club is a partner of MSA, and the Don Deeble Rising Star Award supports athletes in the western suburbs as they aspire to be the best in their sport.

The Don Deeble Rising Star Award winner for June is Taye Ragheb.  Taye enjoyed outstanding success this year as he joined the Australian Taekwondo National Performance Pathways program.  This program is only offered to athletes who are identified as stars of the future. 

Taye balances his rigorous training schedule with Year 12 studies and this year, he competed at the Canada and US Open.  Taye will also compete at the national championships later this year which attracts many international competitors.  

Taye’s goal is to represent Australia at the Olympics in the USA in 2028, and then Brisbane Olympics in 2032.
