Marby Market Day

Year 11 Business Management

More than $1,300 raised for charity!

On Friday the 3rd of May, Unit 1 Business Management students ran small businesses at school, putting their business skills and preparation to the test. And most importantly, raising money for charity. Students chose Save the Children and the Cancer Council to receive the proceeds, with each charity receiving nearly $700.

A representative from Save the Children got in touch with us and said that "the care and concern that Maribyrnong College has shown towards children around the world is truly commendable, and I would like to extend my deepest appreciation on behalf of those who will benefit from your donation."

The students demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills across a range of businesses – from the always popular sausage sizzle (this time with a cevapi option as well), pizza and Krispy Kreme donuts, to chicken tenders, creme brulee and waffles. Students and teachers packed the hall during lunchtime for a taste of the amazing range of food and drink on sale, and then took it outside to enjoy the sunshine and the performances from our fantastic student bands.
