GIRLS FOOTY DAY
St Joseph's Girls Footy Team finished 3rd in the Small Schools Division with convincing wins over much larger schools, Our Lady of Fatima and Tootgarook Primary, and delighted in the number of marks, kicks, handballs, shepherds and especially, the TACKLES, they took across the day. With no injuries to report and many girls wanting to take up the sport, they thoroughly enjoyed the day. Special thanks to Assunta Galbraith and Sarah Fitzgerald for coaching the girls and to Mr K for his useful tips. Thanks so much to all of the boys who went to the trouble of loaning their footy boots to any girls who needed these. I really appreciate their effort and contribution to making their day safer and more fun.
BOYS NETBALL DAY
St Joseph's Boys Netball Team competed against the other nine big and small schools from the Phillip District. With a few wins and a couple of losses between both of our teams, all had a thooughly enjoyable day. Special thanks to Fi Barry, Amelia Moore and Sophie Walsh for helping to coach and score and to Mrs Cameron and Sarah Pancic for their supervision across the day.
We will continue with our intra-school Lunchtime Mixed Netball Competition until the end of Term 2. Special thanks to Ella, Raine, Tahlia and Matilda for running this for all Years 3-6s and giving the boys some great practice.
Warm Regards,
