Preps

It is hard to believe that this is the final newsletter of the first term. The time has absolutely flown and we have been able get through so much. All of the kids have done amazing work and hopefully enjoyed their first term at school.

Over the course of the past nine weeks we have worked on 8 different sounds, started reading books, can write sentences and have done lots of maths work. The growth in all of the students has been fabulous to see and we can’t wait to see more over the rest of the year.

The highlight of the past week was the cross country. We tried something different this year and I think we can all say it was an overwhelming success. The kids had a brilliant time running the track but the individual cheer squad for each child really topped off the event. A big thank you to all the students from Grade 1 to 6 for getting into the spirit of the day and making some amazing signs. Thank you to the parents for coming along and cheering the kids on. A final thanks to Nate in 1C (his Mum might be the true recipient of this message) for arranging an amazing balloon garland to decorate the finish line.

One final note- could all parents make sure that their child’s jumpers/jackets are clearly named to ensure that there is no confusion and if they get misplaced we can quickly return them to their owner. Thank heaps.

Have a restful holiday break and we will see you all back at school in Term 2.
