ITF World Tennis Masters Team Championships results:

Recently I competed for Australia in the 35s age category in the World Tennis Masters Team Championships at Ali Bey in Manavgat, Turkey. It was an experience that I will never forget!

I was in a team with two amazing players from Sydney. We had a challenging first pool, competing against the number 2 seeds Germany as well as the seeded team of the USA. We all competed very hard, enduring lots of long rallies but fell short on both occasions. We then moved on to beat India and Argentina. We placed 9th out of the 14 teams in our age category, which was a great effort.

There were so many other highlights for me, which included the opening ceremony, meeting and connecting with tennis players from all around the world, making new friends, exchanging gifts from our countries at the start of every match and the official tournament dinner. I also got to experience what it was like to play on clay tennis courts for the very first time. As an athlete I LOVE to compete at the highest level, and I have certainly learnt a lot from my experiences. It has helped grow my tennis in ways I could never imagine. This will go down as my all-time favourite tennis memory and experience!

Thank you to the Valkstone community for all your support and good wishes! I was very proud to wear the green and gold and to get the opportunity to represent my country.
