Pilgrims of Hope: Embracing the Jubilee Year 2025

Sacramental Program 2024/2025

Commitment Mass:

On Sunday our Sacramental Candidates came together for their Commitment Mass, as they begin the journey to receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation & Eucharist. It was a wonderful celebration where our candidates & their families stood before our parish community and received a blessing from Fr Ruel.

Cluster Groups:

We then came together at  St. Anne's College for our first Cluster Group, it was an opportunity to gather, pray together and learn from each other. Our focus/aims for our first session was together were that~

We belong to a family & other groups where we experience welcome, love, acceptance & responsibility.

Baptism celebrates our beginning as disciples of Christ who are filled with the Spirit. We become witnesses to Jesus’ values and teachings.

Baptism celebrates our belonging to the Church, experienced through our local parish community.

Holy Week:

As we prepare for Holy Week/The Easter Triduum, the most significant time in our Church's calendar, we look forward to reflecting & gathering together.  Holy Week represents an opportunity for spiritual reflection, community engagement in rituals, and profound moments of learning and connection.

Holy Week Liturgies at St. Mel's:

Holy Week in our Parish & local churches: We invite you to participate and share in some of these rituals with our community.

Harmony Day ~

A wonderful day of celebration for Harmony Day, where our students showcased their appreciation for diversity and unity. Harmony Day, which is celebrated annually on March 21st, is a day dedicated to celebrating Australia's cultural diversity and promoting inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Our school embraced the spirit of Harmony Day with enthusiasm, engaging students in prayer and various activities that highlighted the importance of cultural harmony and understanding. Our students are so proud of who they are and where they come from, it is just so wonderful to see and be a part of the inclusive and vibrant culture we have created here at St. Mel's.

Here's a glimpse into the colourful festivities that took place:
