SWPBS
SWPBS stands for School Wide Positive Behaviour Support. It's our approach to behaviour management which centres on teaching students expected behaviours according to school values. We focus on giving frequent acknowledgements of positive behaviours, which both reinforces those and helps prevent inappropriate choices. We have a procedural response to inappropriate behaviours that relies on reteaching of expected behaviours, logical consequences and restorative practices.
If you're interested in reading more about SWPBS, check out our Guide for Families attached below...
Congratulations to the wonderful students who achieved the first Values Certificates of the year! There were so many Value Cards to sort after the first few weeks that we know there will be plenty more students receiving certificates soon too.
Breakfast Club - Pancake Edition!
We've got Breakfast Club every Tuesday at 8:40am this year. Normally there's toast, cereal and fresh fruit but this week we had a pancake special!! Thanks for organising Rai!
There's also fruit available every day at school. Breakfast Club food is supplied by the Victorian Government and it doesn’t cost the school anything.
Family Food Boxes
As part of the Breakfast Club program, we also have boxes of groceries (non-perishables) available for families every week. These are located outside the staff room just through the double doors from the office. We will keep ordering these so don't hesitate to come in and get one each week if it's helpful for your family. Just drop in and take one - no questions asked, no justifications needed.
Sometimes we over order the fruits and bread - we'll be offering that excess around when we do so nothing goes to waste.
Lunchtime Clubs
Every day we organise a supervised activity inside for half of lunchtime. These are optional and welcoming for all students from across the year levels. For some students, this can be an important relief from the completely open-ended play of outside and a calm and creative outlet.
This is our current schedule, but it's subject to change according to teacher and student interests and ideas!
Monday - Building planks and lego
Tuesday - Drawing and colouring
Wednesday - Not a box or Games
Thursday - Playdough
Friday - Choir
