Student Awards

Student Awards will be presented at our Assembly held every second Friday.  The next Assembly will be held this Friday March 28, 2025 @ 2.35pm (*please note new time)

Foundation

  • Myra  - ‘Be Your Best’ for listening carefully to the sounds you can hear in words and writing them down.  You are becoming a wonderful writer, Myra! 

  • Syrah - ‘Be Your Best’ for working so hard on writing your letters correctly.  Syrah, your letters are now looking beautiful!!  Keep up the wonderful work!  

  • Ruby - ‘Be Your Best’ for listening carefully to instructions, getting started on tasks quickly and quietly, and always trying your best.  What a wonderful start to your school journey Ruby.  Keep up the great work! 

  • Flynn - ‘Be Your Best’ for listening carefully to sounds in words and then matching each sound to their letter.  Your enthusiasm and concentration in these activities is wonderful Flynn- Well done! 

Year 1 & 2

  • Paddy – ‘Be Your Best’ for increasing your self-motivation and working harder within class time, you have made a solid improvement from the start of the year!  Keep it up Paddy! 

  • Sophia - ‘Be Responsible’ for displaying kindness to all students. You are responsible because you include everyone into your activities and always follow the St Joseph’s school value.  Well done, Sophia! 

  • Miles - ‘Help Others Succeed’ for sharing his skills with others. Miles has been helping many of his peers by making books for them and helping with their drawings. Thank you for sharing your wonderful skills, Miles! 

  • Aubree - ‘Help Others Succeed’ for being a kind and considerate class member. Aubree always looks for ways to include others. Thanks for looking out for others, Aubree! 

  • Delilah - ‘Help Others Succeed’ for always looking to help anyone in our classroom.  Our room is a much better place with your assistance! 

  • Molly - ‘Be Your Best’ for always contributing to our class discussions.  Your eagerness to learn and share in the classroom is infectious and we thank you for it.  

Year 3 & 4

  • Peggy – ‘Be Your Best’ for the enthusiasm and positivity she brings to all her learning.  Well done Peggy on your start to Year 3! 

  • Lottie - ‘Help Others Succeed’ for always striving to assist others with their work in the classroom.  Lottie, the care you show to others is extremely positive to see! Well done, Lottie! 

  • Edie - ‘Be Your Best’ for always being an enthusiastic learner in the classroom. You are a wonderful role model to other students, and you are always so kind, helpful and thoughtful of others. Proud of you, Edie!! 

  • Brooklyn - ‘Be Responsible’ for working hard to stay on task in class. Brooklyn, you are doing a great job with your learning, organisation and concentration. Keep it up!  Well done! 

Year 5 & 6

  • Sienna - ‘Be Your Best’ for putting in your best efforts into your learning and showing organisation and persistence when faced with a challenge.  Great work Sienna! 

  • Lucas - ‘Be Your Best’ for actively contributing towards classroom discussion as well as sharing your learning and understandings. Lucas, you politely share questions and curiosities as well as provide valuable methods of solution during maths. 

  • Marlie - ‘Be Responsible’ for using your maths time wisely and trying consistently during the Daily review session. Marlie, you have shown a greater understanding of the order of operations which is pleasing.  Well, Done! 

  • Annabelle - ‘Be Your Best’ for her amazing persuasive writing about whether horses should have been used in the war. Annabelle, your language choices make your writing a pleasure to read. Great job! 

  • Henry - ‘Be Your Best’ for his positive attitude towards his schoolwork.  Henry, you are a great learner because you consistently seek feedback and implement it into your work to give yourself the best chance of success.  Great job! 

  • Dominic - ‘Be Responsible’ for the commitment and dedication you display towards your learning.  Dominic, your schoolwork is consistently completed to a high standard.  Well, done.  

  • Prabhleen - ‘Be Your Best’ for completing an excellent piece of persuasive writing.  Prabhleen, it was a pleasure to read your persuasive writing piece on why horses shouldn’t have gone to WW1.  Well, done. 

     

SPECIALIST

STEAM 

  • William (F) – ‘Be Your Best’ for your ability to successfully code the Bee-Bots in STEAM by using clear directional language with your partner and counting the spaces accurately to ensure your Bee-Bot reached its destination.  Excellent achievement, Will!  Keep up the great work! 

  • Albie (1/2) - ‘Help Others Succeed’ for reminding and encouraging your teammates to be resilient and persistent during challenging tasks.  Albie, your friendly attitude and positive feedback helped your team stay motivated and complete the bridge building task successfully.  Amazing effort 

  • Percy (3/4) - ‘Be Responsible’ for consistently demonstrating outstanding teamwork and responsibility by efficiently packing up and resetting tasks.  Your helpful nature and curiosity are evident in every lesson, showing a strong commitment to learning and collaboration.  Congratulations on your dedication to STEAM learning!  

  • Parker (5/6) - ‘Be Your Best’ for your creativity and attention to detail when drawing and developing your designs in STEAM.  Your careful planning and thoughtful approach ensure your work stands out.  Keep up the fantastic effort! 

Art 

  • Samuel M (F) - ‘Be Your Best’ for demonstrating his knowledge of the colours of the rainbow, using watercolour to paint this in correct order. 

  • Ruby (1/2)- ‘Be Your Best’ for putting a great deal of thought into her artwork each week, ensuring that she meets each lesson’s objectives.  Ruby, your work on portraits this term has been fabulous! 

  • Maddi  (3/4) - ‘Be Your Best’ for a fabulous effort on your 3D self-portrait. 

  • Marlie (5/6) - ‘Be Your Best’ for an amazing effort on your 3D cardboard portrait of Gary the snail.  You have shown excellent technique with cutting and colouring of this character. 

Music 

  • Ariel  (F) - ‘Be Your Best’ for consistently demonstrating outstanding enthusiasm for music and performing, and for working extremely hard to follow teacher instructions to be the best you can be.  Ariel, your music interpretation task, where you drew how music makes you feel, was beautifully presented.  Well done, Ariel. 

  • Asher (1/2) - ‘Be Your Best’ for your creativity and listening skills in every music lesson.  This enables you to perform beautifully on the instruments and to be able to work so well in an ensemble.  You are a respectful team player.  Keep up the fantastic effort! 

  • Harlow (3/4) – ‘Be Your Best’ for the way you have been approaching every music lesson this year.  You sit respectfully and listen to instructions and then use your skills and creativity to play the instruments correctly.  Harlow, you always help pack up the Arts space and sort the instruments after each lesson, even without being asked.  Thank you. 

  • Londyn (5/6) - ‘Be Your Best’ for the way you quietly go about your production rehearsals to clearly show newfound performance skills each lesson.  Londyn, you are a respectful member of our production team, and not only do you always work hard on your own performance, but you allow others to shine.  Keep up the great work! 

P.E. 

  • Toby (F) - ‘Be your Best’ for demonstrating great running and skipping in games.  You continue to follow the rules and really enjoyed playing pizza.  Well done, Toby.  

  • George (1/2) - ‘Be your Best’ for playing games well and being a good sport when going out.  Well done on collecting all your coins in PE class. 

  • Emmy (3/4) - ‘Be your Best’ for showing great determination in your practise for the Colour Run.  You give any skills a go and have fun whilst doing it.  Well done, Emmy. 

  • Leo (5/6) - ‘Be your Best’ for demonstrating fantastic soccer skills in PE.  You move the ball well and include all your team.

Hats on at St Joseph's - Reminder

“Hats On!” at St Joseph’s - At St Joseph’s Primary School, our SunSmart Policy notes that all children will be required to wear school broad brimmed hats from ‘Hats On Day’- September 1 to ‘Hats Off Day’ - May 1 whenever they are outside including sports lessons. However, if the UV is 3 or above it is recommended hats be worn for protection.  Children without hats will be required to remain in the outdoor eating area (green tables) at all times – ‘NO HAT, NO PLAY’ policy will be enforced.
