🦒Healthy Bodies, Happy Minds: A Giraffe-tastic Adventure! 🦒
This week, our Year 3/4 students had an exciting and interactive learning experience during their incursion, The Inside Story, presented by Life Ed Victoria. This engaging session helped students explore the wonders of the human body and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Throughout the incursion, students participated in a series of hands-on activities designed to deepen their understanding of physical health. They awarded "trophies" to different food groups, recognising the importance of carbohydrates for energy, nutrients for overall health, and proteins for muscle growth. These fun challenges helped reinforce the value of balanced eating in a memorable way.
Technology also played a role in the learning experience, with students using QR codes to take a peek inside the human body. They explored the digestive system, heart, and lungs, discovering how these organs work together to keep us strong and healthy. This interactive element sparked curiosity and encouraged students to think about how their own bodies function.
Creativity was also on display as students sketched key organs, reinforcing their learning through art. By drawing the heart, lungs, and stomach, they gained a clearer understanding of these essential body parts and their roles in daily life.
The highlight of the session, of course, was the special appearance of Harold the Giraffe! Harold charmed the students with his friendly personality, answering their burning health questions and even allowing them to give him a gentle pat. His visit was the perfect way to wrap up a fantastic day of learning.
This incursion provided our students with valuable knowledge about health and well-being in an engaging and memorable way. We hope they continue to use what they've learned to make healthy choices every day!
