This fortnight, the Middle and Senior school students were given a challenge to use the STEM robots in a chariot race. With just one A4 piece of paper and some masking tape, they needed to design a harness to attach to their Dash or Sphero, that also had space for a Lego figurine driver.
The students were able to test their chariots along the way and design enhancements to consider the impact of speed, friction and stability. It was great seeing everyone give it a go. It was also an important reminder that the engineering process can often be difficult. It's in our failures that we learn the most.
This week is Neurodiversity Week 2025. An important time to learn about the different ways our brains work. Each class have spent time learning about how we can support each other and make the world more inclusive.
Next week the whole school will celebrate Neurodiversity in STEM. During their regular STEM class they will look at what it means to be Neurodiverse, and learn about some amazing Neurodiverse Scientists, Engineers and Inventors that have shaped the world.
Look out for some photos of their work in the next issue of Snippet
