Western Bulldogs Player Visit
Year 6 students were thrilled to welcome Marcus Bontempelli, Jedd Busslinger, Cooper Hynes and Lachlan Smith from the Western Bulldogs for an action-packed footy clinic and Q&A session.
The session began with a skills practice, where students honed their kicking, marking, and handballing techniques under his expert guidance. Following the clinic, Marcus Bontempelli engaged in a lively Q&A, answering questions about the realities of professional sport and the qualities of effective leadership. He emphasised the importance of hard work, perseverance, and teamwork, inspiring students to pursue their goals with dedication.
The visit left a lasting impact, with students gaining valuable insights into both footy skills and personal development. The players genuine and encouraging demeanor resonated with the students, who left the session motivated and excited. A huge thank you to Western Bulldogs for providing this incredible opportunity!
The SMDP Athletics Day
The Athletics Carnival will take place on Tuesday, 29th of April at the Newport Park Athletics Track, Cnr North Road and The Strand, Newport. The four house’s have been preparing and ready to compete to see which house wins the carnival. Our house leaders will be preparing chants and helping support everyone with their events. Below is an outline of the day and everyone is welcome to come and support. We look forward to seeing everyone and having a wonderful day of athletics.
