Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Liya

Well done Liya for being a motivated writer! You consistently do your best and a little bit more when adding detailed drawings and when thinking of sentences to write about your Discovery room experiences. You are a writing superstar, well done!

Oliver

For being a motivated learner in all lessons last week. Oliver got on with his work independently and listened carefully to all directions.  He chose to invest in his work doing his best and then a little bit more.  What a great example of using the engagement continuum to lift your work. Keep up the wonderful work Oliver.

For being a motivated learner during swimming lessons the past two weeks. Your quick change skills are super impressive, helping you make the most of your lesson time! Your positive attitude and encouraging words to your friends has helped others achieve success. What a great role model you are Rayyan

For demonstrating outstanding motivation throughout our swimming lesson program. Your fearless approach to every challenge, combined with your eagerness to dive in and give your best effort, was amazing. Your organisation and positive attitude, both in and out of the water, set a remarkable example for your classmates. Keep shining, Falak—you are a true superstar!

For being a motivated learner.  You showed great enthusiasm in your writing task, carefully planning your narrative with creative ideas and characters like Jonny the elephant. You are always one of the first on the carpet, ready to listen and engage with your learning. Your determination and positive attitude set a great example for others. Keep up the fantastic effort!

For being a super swimmer these past 2 weeks! You were always the first one ready to go and managed to remain organised and focussed throughout all the chaos. To add to this you were helpful , motivated, reflective and resilient throughout all the change. It was difficult to choose a power but I have gone with resilience! Well done Elsie!

For being a resilient learner who is determined and never gives up! She bounces back when challenges arise and sees mistakes as learning opportunities. Her learning behaviours, such as building stamina in writing, prove that she is a strong positive role model in 3/4LM and we are so proud of her leadership qualities!

For being a resilient learner in Writing this week. You showed motivation and a positive attitude, when brainstorming  your narrative, after having a few days away.

You asked thoughtful questions to clarify the task and focussed on developing your story. It was fantastic to see your dedication to your learning! Keep up your  passion for Writing, Kathlyn!

For demonstrating excellent writing skills by using "show, don't tell" techniques and descriptive language to create a vivid and engaging narrative story. Your attention to detail made me feel like I was right there in the moment! You took your time to edit and reflect on your writing, to make sure your writing was even better. Keep up the fantastic work, Pragnya.

For being collaborative learners  two students  worked  on a  challenging maths task  helping and supporting each other with persistence and focus to solve the problem.
