STUDENT  LEARNING

PREP TERM 1

Our Prep students have so much to be proud of so far this term! They have settled into classroom routines, created new connections with their peers and teachers and have begun learning and exploring lots of new concepts. 

We have also been exploring different things around our community in Integrated Studies. This has generated wonderful discussion about our community and our school. We have spoken about our own families as well as our class and school as a family. 

We have began introducing letters and sounds in Literacy and applying this when reading independently and writing. 

In Numeracy, we are using a range of hands-on materials to help us count a collection and represent numbers in different ways. Students have been developing their number knowledge through matching activities and games with a favourite being Spingo!

In Integrated Studies, we have been exploring different places around our local Lucas community. This has generated wonderful discussion about our community and our school. We have spoken about our own families as well as our class and school as a family. We have fabulous family trees displayed in our rooms!
