WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING (1 of 2)

YEAR 9 FRENCH & YEAR 11 ART EXCURSION
BY CHLOE KRIVAN (SECONDARY ART TEACHER)
The Year 9 French students and Year 11 Art Creative Practice students enjoyed an inspiring day visiting the Cartier Exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
The exhibition explores more than a century of Cartier’s jewellery, watches and design. The Year 9 French students enjoyed an immersive opportunity to explore France’s rich cultural heritage and artistic history, while the Year 11 Art Creative Practice students examined the collaborative processes behind Cartier’s pieces, exploring the roles of designers, gemmologists, craftspeople and artists.
Afterwards, the group enjoyed a walk through the city and a short visit to St Paul’s Cathedral. Thank you to all who made the day possible!
YEAR 11 CHARITY SOCIAL
BY DANIEL DEMA (HEAD OF LANGUAGES & YEAR 11 & 12 COORDINATOR)
On Friday, 21st August, our Year 11s came together for an enjoyable charity social event organised and run by the students. The evening aimed to raise funds for Dolly's Dream; (chosen by the students) - a charity dedicated to supporting young people struggling with mental health issues.
We had a good turnout and the atmosphere throughout the night was light-hearted and welcoming, featuring a variety of activities that kept everyone entertained.
A live student band, composed of Phoebe M, MacKenzie B, Liam De, Charlotte B and Jesse D, kicked off the entertainment by playing some beautiful worship songs. Students also lined up for karaoke and showed off their moves on the floor with Just Dance. Alongside the music, attendees enjoyed a selection of delicious food available throughout the venue, as well as the very popular photo booth.
Thanks to the hard work of the people who organised the Charity Social and to the generous contributions of everyone who attended, the event was both a practical success for a worthy cause and an enjoyable way to bond as a year level.
A big thank you to the student team who met regularly for two months to plan activities, music and decorations: Eleanor A, Ella P, Eva M, Jamisyn T, Liam De, Macey H, MacKenzie B, Millie V, Olivia C, Phoebe M, Ruby K, Zach T!
We would also like to thank the Admin staff of our school for their work behind the scenes to make sure that the night runs smoothly for us, as well as the staff who attended the event to show their support for the students!
Well done, Year 11s, you did a wonderful job!
