From the Principal

It is amazing that we are now right at the end of Term 2. It has been a LOOOOONG term, but a very successful one. I commend the students on their efforts and commitment to their learning. I hope everyone has a wonderful break and we will see lots of smiling faces back at school to start Term 3 on Monday, 21st of July.

School and Parish Update from MACS:
Please enjoy the latest edition of the "School and Parish" update newsletter from MACS, it has a great infographic about the Vision for Engagement vision.
Some sad news from the Chicken Coop:
In some sad news, one of our chickens passed away last week. It had been looking unwell for a few days and Mrs Norris took it home for some rest and recovery away from the other two chicks, but nothing could be done to help the poor chick.
Caritas Free Dress Day:
Tomorrow we are holding a free dress day for all students. This is in celebration of the wonderful work our school did in raising money for Project Compassion during Lent.

Sacrament of Baptism:
A huge congratulations to Harvey and Poppy who were both Baptised at St Thomas More Parish, Belgrave on Sunday. Thanks to Mrs Janky for supporting the family through this process.
Sacrament of Reconciliation:
A huge congratulations to the 9 students who received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation on Monday afternoon. It is a wonderful step on their faith journey and we keep them in our thoughts and prayers as they now begin to prepare for the Sacrament of Eucharist in August. Thanks to Mrs Janky and the classroom teachers for helping to prepare the students.
Myuna Farm:
How blessed the Prep - Year 2 students were on Monday with the awesome weather for their Myuna Farm excursion. The staff said the students were beautifully behaved and were a credit to our school community.
Some feedback from the Farm!!
Good afternoon, St Thomas!
We had your Prep-grade 2 visit Myuna Farm today and wanted to pass on our feedback.
The three grades of students were absolutely amazing, along with their teachers and visiting adults.
They showed awesome respect, listening, kindness and intelligence while visiting the farm and the students should be super proud of how they handled the excursion. If we could send them a bag of lollies we would! We don’t usually send a feedback email, these kids really were great and we both had such a fun day with them.
We’d love to have them back anytime and we hope to see your students again next year! (they really were so fun honestly)

Accessing School Reports:
As mentioned in previous Newsletters the school reports will be distributed today. I have attached two Quick Reference Guides for parents to use to help them access the portal to get the reports. If you have any issues, please just email me and I can provide a PDF copy.
Additional Open Days:
I have added a couple more Open Days to the school calendar as the last one was at capacity. Numbers for next year and 2027 Prep are looking very strong. Keep spreading the word!!
Wellbing Resource:
Over the holidays you may like to use these conversation cards as a fun family activity. It might generate some interesting conversations around the dinner table. Hope you enjoy!
Just a note for parents that Term 2 will finish tomorrow, Friday, 4th of July @ 3:10pm. Term 3 will commence on Monday, 21st of July.
