Principal Report

Welcome back to Term 3 everyone! We hope you had a wonderful break and are looking forward to a productive and engaging term. It’s been great to see such a calm and seamless return to routines which really benefits our students and sets the tone for a fantastic Term 3.

Our first day back for Term 3 for our Gr 3-6 students was eventful. We hit the ground running on our return to school last Monday with our annual Oatlands Athletics Carnival occurring at Casey Fields. The sun was shining, our students were wonderfully behaved, and a lot of fun was had by all. Thank you to the parents, carers and other family members who came along and supported our students with loud cheers, applause and hugs of pride. Well done to all students who competed and to those competing at the district event coming up.

Last week we were excited to open our Time Capsule, sealed 25 years ago! It was a special moment for our community as we reflected on the memories, messages, and mementos from the past and celebrated how far our school has come. Our students were fascinated to see the items inside—old photos, bits of work and classroom treasures—that gave a glimpse into school life a generation ago. It sparked great conversations about change, tradition, and the stories that shape our school community.

Prep students marked a special milestone yesterday with their 100 Days Brighter celebration, recognising their 100th day of school. Dressed in bright, colourful outfits, there were plenty of smiles and excitement as they enjoyed a day filled with fun activities and games as they celebrated their learning journey so far with their friends and teachers.

Our Calm Cave continues to be a well utilised space designed to help students regulate emotions, develop social skills, and build strong connections with one another. We are super proud of this space, and students enjoy visiting with their grade to do circle time activities, mindfulness exercises and games that promote turn-taking, cooperation and respectful communication.

Thank you
