Maths Challenge

Well done to 5/6 Greer for being awarded the Maths Challenge trophy this fortnight!

The next Maths challenge will be realised in the first newsletter of Term 3!

What we have been up to...

Last week for reading, we read The Most Magnificent Thing. The students then designed and created a most magnificent thing of their own. This week, we read The Patchwork Bike and next week, we will have a go at constructing a bike using recycled materials.

This week for writing, we learnt about alliteration and onomatopoeia. Today, the students had a go at using both of these literacy devices in their Big Writes.

In Mathematics, we began learning how to do vertical subtraction. We have also continued with our focus of metal strategies for addition and subtraction.

Our Science experiment this week was the Coke and Mentos experiment to observe the chemical reaction that takes place when these two substances are combined. We also conducted an activity to learn more about the phases of the moon.
