Responsive Teaching Practices

Earlier in Term 2, a group of our school leaders had the exciting opportunity to attend a two-day masterclass with renowned educator Bron Ryrie Jones. These sessions focused on responsive teaching practices – a powerful approach to teaching that helps all students feel supported and successful in their learning.
Responsive teaching is focused on understanding where students are at in their learning and helping them take the next step. It encourages teachers to notice, listen, and adjust their teaching so that every student can learn at optimal levels. Bron Ryrie Jones is a well-known expert in this area, and our leaders came away from the masterclass inspired and full of practical strategies to bring back to our learning spaces.
To make sure everyone benefited from this fantastic learning experience, the leaders who attended the masterclass shared their insights with the whole school during our recent Curriculum Day. They led engaging sessions where all staff explored how to apply responsive teaching practices across the curriculum There was lots of discussion, collaboration, and reflection – and plenty of new ideas to try!
A huge thank you to Mrs Salt, Miss Walton, Miss Tran, Mrs Heather and Miss Yates for facilitating an amazing professional learning day.
