Celebrating Our Sacramental Candidates
This past Sunday, we were filled with joy and pride as our Sacramental candidates received their Confirmation certificates during our parish Mass. It was a beautiful moment of celebration and recognition, marking an important milestone in their faith journey.
The students were delighted to also receive congratulatory cards from students of our school community at our assembly. These heartfelt messages meant so much to them and truly reflected the loving and supportive spirit of our school and parish.
Each child has walked this Sacramental journey with openness, reverence, and a deepening connection to their faith. As a community, we give thanks for their commitment and the guidance of families, staff, and parish leaders who have walked alongside them.
Congratulations to all our candidates, what a wonderful journey it has been.
May you continue to grow in faith, hope, and love.

Message from Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited:
It is with absolute pride that we congratulate Most Reverend Bishop Shane MacKinlay on his appointment as Archbishop of Brisbane.
Bishop Shane has been a great gift to the Sandhurst Diocese, and to our schools since his appointment as Bishop of Sandhurst in 2019. Executive Director of Catholic Education Sandhurst, Kate Fogarty, said Bishop Shane will be deeply missed. “His advocacy for education has been second to none, and has always shown interest in what we do and what matters to us. But perhaps more importantly, he has been a humble and human leader, deeply present to our staff and our students, attending and taking joy in so many of our important events and celebrations.”
Bishop Shane will be installed as the Archbishop of Brisbane on Thursday, 11 September 2025. Read about the announcement via our website - https://www.ceosand.catholic.edu.au/what-s-on/latest-news-events/216-pope-leo-appoints-new-archbishop-of-brisbane-most-reverend-shane-mackinlay
Actions speak louder than words, let your words teach and your actions speak”
Saint Anthony of Padua
Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a special day in our Church calendar that reminds us of Jesus’ deep and unconditional love for all people. At school, we take time in prayer and reflection to think about His heart, overflowing with compassion, kindness, and mercy.
Our students have been exploring what it means to show love in action, just like Jesus, through simple yet powerful acts of kindness, generosity, and care for others. One meaningful way we are living this out is through our St. Vinnies Winter Appeal, which invites us to support those in need during the colder months. Next term, we will continue this spirit of compassion as we gather for our Giving Mass – the Mass of Compassion, a special celebration of love, service, and community.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Pray for Us!
Social Justice in Action ~ Our Year 6 Leaders from our Social Justice Team have proudly launched our St. Vinnies Winter Appeal to support people within our local community. School families are invited to donate toiletries, blankets and sleeping bags to be distributed within our local community by the compassionate work of the St. Vincent dePaul Society. Please send any donations to school with your children and they can place them in the office bucket or drop them into the collection baskets in our school foyer.
Thank you for your generosity & support!
National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. You can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country.
On the first Monday back after the holidays, we will have a NAIDOC Week prayer at our assembly.

Ancestral Lines
Jeremy Morgan Worrall
Ancestral Lines is a visual representation of the lines and ties that follow a generation and the songs that come with it.
When I think of the next generation I think towards my Ancestor Lucy Wright, Enoch Wright, Nonie Wright, all the way from my Nanna Audrie to my Mother Vanessa.
When I look back at my mob it helps me see towards the future, it gives me hope and strength knowing what my mob have survived through and accomplished amid adversity.
Each person in the painting depicts a series of lines akin to songlines, that represent what they know, who they were and what they have passed on, the first being that of lore (interpretive), hunting, protecting, and tracking, the second of care, weaving, fishing, and love.
The third is when we see the two combine into one, and the last two take unfinished elements of them all, to show the passing down of knowledge and care.
Above them is the essence of the land they live and protect/care for. It is a depiction of my home the cold skies of Tenterfield with the swirling clouds and giant moon, a place around the fire is where the next Generation find their strength, vision and legacy.
Open our HEARTS up to the world & be COMPASSIONATE!
Pope Francis
Lord,
In the midst of Winter, when the days are cold and wind can pierce, remind us of the warmth of your love.
In the midst of Winter, when days are short, dawn comes late, and dusk arrives early, remind us that in the darkness your light still shines.
Lord, help us to see the beauty of your creation in the winter months.
Lord, help us to use these holidays to rest, recharge & rejuvenate so we can serve you and others in your name.
Amen
Have a wonderful holiday break, enjoy the time with your families, fill your cups doing all the things that bring you the most joy.
