Traffic Safety - 'Kiss and Go'
Over the last week or so I have been monitoring the 'Kiss and Go' areas along Tooronga Road.
Parents need to be aware that they cannot move away from their cars if they are dropping their children off in these bays - the children must walk themselves into school.
The 'Kiss and Go' bays are No Parking bays, which means you can bring your vehicle to a stop but cannot leave or move away from your car. You must have left the parking bay within two minutes.
These spaces have been designated 'Kiss and Go' to ensure there is a good flow of traffic along Tooronga Road at school drop off and pick up. If everyone uses these bays correctly it is safer for our children as they come to and go home from school.
If you wish to walk your child to the school gate or classroom, or pick them up from inside the school ground, please do not use the ‘Kiss and Go’ bays.
Whilst we understand these arrangements are not always convenient, we thank you for your support and cooperation with this.
Reporting Absences
Parents are asked to go to the COMPASS Portal to enter the reason for their child’s absence before 9.30 am the day of their absence. If parents have not recorded the reason by 9.30am you will receive an automated text, requesting that you go to the COMPASS Portal to record your child’s absence. If parents know in advance that their child will be absent or that the absence will be over several days, it can be entered in advance.
We ask that parents do not email their child’s teacher as sometimes the emails are not read before school.
Annual privacy reminder for our school community
Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ Privacy Policy and the Schools’ Privacy Collection Notice.
Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy, describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.
We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.

Student Accident Insurance
Parents are reminded that the school does not hold ambulance or accident insurance for injuries to students at school, on excursions or on camps. Parents are generally responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injury to students, including any transport costs. There are a number of companies who provide accident insurance policies.
Bringing Valuable Items to School
Parents, students and staff are reminded that personal property brought to school (including mobile phones, smart watches, iPods, calculators, toys, sporting goods, stationary) are not insured for loss or damage. Students are discouraged from bringing anything to school that is particularly valuable or special. All student electronic devices, including mobile phones, are to be turned off and secured in school bags during school hours, as per our mobile phone policy.
