From our Principal

Christine Pillot

The first two weeks of term 3 at Croydon SDS have flown by.  Whilst busy, it's been a positive and productive couple of weeks.  Students came back to school happily and adjusted back to their school and classroom routines smoothly.

This term we welcome new staff members, Berenise as the teacher of room 20, Eve as casual relief teacher, and Alyssa as an Education Support staff member Working in primary 2 and room 12/13.   It's been great to have Berenise, Eve and Alyssa commence with us and bring their knowledge and experience from working in other schools and a range of settings across Victoria, interstate and other countries.

We also warmly welcome two new students to Croydon SDS, Michael has joined room 8 and Sienna has started in room 20.

Building Project Update

If you have been at the school this term you would have noticed a lot of progress with the project.  We now have a roof over the main building area and framework continues to be installed.  The construction of the pool has been very detailed and thorough and this continues to take shape.  Over the holidays, work out the front of the existing administration building to prepare for a water tank and a new fire hydrant service took place.

OHSC Survey

Over the past 12 months, School Council have been discussing onsite school holiday and OSHC programs.  School Council would like to hear your views on running a school holiday and OSHC program at our school, to determine if this would be feasible.   We invite you to participate in our brief survey (5 questions).  https://forms.gle/C7L1epcKh4A3gicJA

Thank you!

SSG Week

SSG Week is coming up in week 5, (12 - 16 August).  We are now using Compass as the SSG meeting booking system, this can be found under the, 'Conference Booking' tab.

Please let your classroom teacher know if you cannot access Compass to book in a meeting time and they will let you know what times are available.

We encourage all parents/carers to meet with classroom teachers to discuss your child's progress towards their learning goals.   We would also now like students to be involved in their SSG meeting to share their learning and progress with you.  We have created specific tools to help our students share their learning.

SSGs are a great opportunity to hear about the success your child has had through the year already.
