MDP End of Year Ensemble Concert

T4 Wk 9 | Monday 2nd December

MDP Ensemble Concert

The MDP Semester 1 Ensemble Concert took place at the end of last term, marking a spectacular event at the Berwick Church of Christ. Over 200 MDP students, alongside the dedicated music staff and volunteers, collaborated to present an extraordinary display of musicianship and teamwork.

The concert featured performances from all 12 regularly rehearsing ensembles, as well as some special groups formed specifically for this occasion.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the MDP students and staff members for their exceptional efforts. A sincere thank you goes out to all the parents, friends, and staff who supported us. We eagerly anticipate our next concert on December 2nd to conclude the year on a high note.

FOLLOW UP ON OUR SPOTLIGHT ON AN MDP MEMBER – CONGRATULATIONS SASKIA!

The Kambrya Arts Department, along with the entire Kambrya College community, extends a heartfelt congratulations to our very own Saskia Kirby for securing first place in the Grand Final of Take the Mic!

In a fiercely competitive final round, Saskia performed “Still Hurting” from The Last Five Years, impressing both the judges and the audience. Her outstanding performance earned her a scholarship to further develop her musical theatre skills.

Take the Mic is a prestigious singing competition that attracts thousands of exceptional performers annually, making Saskia's victory a remarkable achievement that fills us with immense pride. Saskia, our reigning MDP MVP as voted by MDP staff and students at the end of 2023, will also be starring as Willy Wonka in the Kambrya 2024 Production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

SCHOOLS ON STAGE!

We are thrilled to announce that Kambrya College will once again be participating in the Schools on Stage competition this year!

Schools on Stage is a musical spectacular where local schools showcase their talents in music, song, and dance, featuring over 200 young performers. Each participating school will present two songs from their school production. Schools on Stage 2024 will take place on Thursday, September 12th, at Bunjil Place Theatre.

This year, Kambrya College will be presenting “Must Be Believed to Be Seen” and “You Got Whacha Want.”  Two outstanding and colourful numbers from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

We would love to see as many family members and friends as possible in the audience to cheer on our amazing performers. Your support could help us win the Audience Choice Award, a title we've proudly held for the past five years!

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at: https://www.bunjilplace.com.au/events/schools-on-stage (you may recognise the picture they’ve used on the website for promotion!)
