Term 2

Cross Country

Earlier this term, Thursday May 9th, we had 48 students from grades 3-6 go to Bundoora Park to participate in the Northcote District Cross Country. We had a huge number of students place in the top 20 for their event and those who placed in the top 10 were given the chance to go back and compete in the Darebin Division Cross Country, Thursday May 30th. Three out of the six students who went to division again placed in the top 10 and were given the opportunity to represent Wales Street in the Northern Region Cross Country Championships at the Kilmore Racing Club, Wednesday 19th June. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Cross Country team, we are really proud of your efforts!

Grade 6 Gala Day

Throughout Term 2 our Grade 6 students trained for their inter-school sports gala day. The day was held at Reservoir High School and our teams competed against teams from Northcote PS, Westgarth PS, St Joseph’s PS and Preston South PS. We had teams participate in both Girls and Boys/Mixed Netball and Soccer.

Each of our 3 Netball and 3 Soccer teams had a number of wins and losses throughout the day. It was great to see our senior students represent Wales Street with such sportsmanship and hard work. Well done to all our students and thank you to each of our coaches and the family members who came to support our teams on the day.

Congratulations to our Girls Soccer team, who won all their matches and will go onto compete in a District final and possibly the Darebin Division Championships early Term 3.

Kind regards
