Student Representatives

Conference Athletics

We have a staggering 36 students who will represent our school at the Conference 3 Athletics trial held at Sydney Olympic Park on Monday 12th August (Term 3). Students will meet at the start of Term 3 to receive their representative jersey. Please ensure you have provided consent via COMPASS for your child to attend this event.

NEW Representative Jersey

We were very grateful to have received a donation to put towards some representative jerseys for our school. Thank you to Mrs Miller for looking after this order. Don't they look great!

SCS INTERSCHOOL SPORT

Interconference Football Championships

Congratulations to our Level 1 Girls Football Team who competed at the Interconference Championships on Monday 1st July. The girls displayed wonderful sportsmanship and became the winners of Conference 3. The girls then had to play a final against St Christopher's Holsworthy who were the winners of Conference 4. Congratulations to St Christopher's Holsworthy who won this final and an even more important acknowledgement to our girls for displaying great sportsmanship. A special mention to Chloe W for receiving the players player medal. 

Shark League Tag Interschool Sport

Our last age group to participate in the Interschool League Tag Gala Day is Year 4 on Wed 28th August. Information can be found on COMPASS. Our students and teachers have highly enjoyed the opportunity to get outdoors and play amongst great company. The photos speak more than words.

Our level 1 Stage 3 teams did really well on the day. We are awaiting further details regarding their progression. Stay tuned!

Our next round of Interschool Sport for Years 3-6 is focused on the Sport Tri Tag Rugby. Please watch this 2 minute video which provides you with an overview on how to play. Students will watch this video and discuss the rules with their class next term before attending this gala day.  Please take note that there will be NO LEVEL 1 Stage 3 team for Tri Tag Rugby.

LOCAL CLUB GALA DAYS

Sutherland Sharks Basketball Gala Day

Next term we have 2 more Basketball Gala days hosted by Sutherland Basketball. They will be on the below dates. The draw will be sent to any spectating families when it becomes available to us. Students will meet in the weeks leading to the gala day to form teams and to be provided with a jersey to wear on the gala day.

Stage 3 Boys: Monday 5th August (week 3)

Stage 3 Girls: Monday 12th August (week 4)

NFL FLAG FOOTBALL

Flag Football is an Olympic Sport in 2028 and the NFL is putting a lot of resources Worldwide for the promotion of the sport. Our school will be involved in this program which at this point will be targeted at our current year 4, year 5 and year 6 students. Students have highly enjoyed learning the skills involved in NFL and this will continue into the start of next term.

Our school has received details for the NSW State NFL Flagball Championships on Friday the 9th of August. The day is for Year 5 and 6 students only and we have been informed we can only send 1 mixed team of 10 players to this gala day. 

Our school may hire an NFL independent coach to select the 10 students based on a trial process. If your child would like to do the trial for the NFL team please fill out this Registration Form by Friday 26th July. The trial will take place during Week 2 of Term 3 with a date to be confirmed. If selected, parents are required to organise transport for their child to and from the ground.
