Term 2 - Week 8

Welcome to Week 8,

Over the last two weeks our students, with the support of their teachers, have been provided with the opportunity to present to their parents their 2024 learning journey. Having our students, even our youngest, being able to articulate aspects of their learning is incredibly powerful. Articulating this to their parents and their teacher also reinforced to the students of home working side by side with the school.

An enormous thank you to our parents who have booked a Student Led Learning Conference and sat with your child. Taking the opportunity to reinforce as a parent that you value and are invested in your child’s education, is not only one of the most important investments you can make in your child- though is also worth far more than thousands of dollars of resources. Thank you!

We continually receive quality feedback in regards to this experience. Parents however, occasionally request an opportunity during the Student Led Learning Conferences to speak one on one with the teacher. Please understand this goes against the very nature of trusting our students, with support, to articulate their learning. It goes against providing an opportunity for our children to see they are the key component to the home/school relationship.

For parents wishing to speak one on one with their child’s teacher, please simply reach out and request a one on one meeting at a mutually convenient time. At St Nicholas School we have developed a culture of every day being an opportunity for a Parent/Teacher Interview.
