A message from our President

Dear Parents, Carers, Teachers and Students of WMPS Community,

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the newly elected School Council President. My name is Jo Price, and I have been a proud member of our school community for 2.5 years, both as a parent and volunteer. My son Charlie Henderson is in Grade 2 with Miss West.

Beyond my role at the school, I work part time in the food manufacturing industry in a role that looks after our Corporate Social responsibility, which includes Food quality and safety and Environmental and Sustainable Governance. The best part of my job is tasting new and innovative food creations like ‘Space ice cream’ or ‘Savoury Insects’. Outside of work I play netball and coach an under 15’s netball team with Brentwood Netball Club and actively support Charlie’s participation in soccer and footy with Glen Waverley Soccer Club and Waverley Hawks AFL Footy Club, across the road at Columbia Park.

My husband Pete and I chose to send Charlie to WMPS because of the close community and the nurture and care provided to each student and of course the chooks! Our school provides great academic opportunities lead by enthusiastic and caring teachers, but it also provides fun extracurricular activities that helps stretch the imagination of our children to try new things.  As President, I hope to support the growth of our vibrant, inclusive, and supportive environment so that every student can thrive. This year, I am particularly excited to focus on increasing parental involvement in our Fundraising activities so we can get our courts resurfaced and help promote our wonderful school community.

At WMPS our strength lies in our community, and I warmly invite you all to participate in our School Council activities. Your ideas, feedback, and involvement are crucial as we work together to make our school the best it can be. Please feel free to reach out to me or any council member.

Thank you for your trust and support. I look forward to working with all of you to make this a fantastic year for our school!

Jo Price

School Council President
